This timber framing mallet is hand lathed from local red elm. After the wood is assembled for the head, it is bound and reinforced with hand forged steel rings.
The handle is hand lathed elm that is tightly fitted into the mallet head and glued. The wood is treated with linseed oil and beeswax.
